Girls Got Heart’s 2019 annual lunch ‘Hearts on the River’ was a huge success, raising funds to continue to deliver critical health services to rural and regional Queensland.
The work of GGH goes so much further than fundraising, with 40 riders we travel through the communities showing them that we care with an aim to create a connection and doing something to promote change. These communities need support more than ever at the moment, we have all seen the added stress they are facing with the devastation caused by the recent floods.
Guests arrived to a glass of Champagne and an oppourtunity to mingle with friends and family, while enjoying the warm winter sun out on the lawn and the beautiful view of the Brisbane river, before sitting down to a delicious 3 course lunch.
Champagne, Beer, Wine and soft drink were included until 2.30pm followed by an open bar and music which took us into the evening.
Our master of ceremonies, Channel Nine’s, Melissa Downes guided us beautifully through an afternoon of entertainment including raffles and lucky door prizes. Melissa also interviewed some of the RACQ LifeFlight crew and a family who have had a positive health outcome thanks to this amazing service.
Guests also enjoyed the hilarity of a ‘Mechanical Bull Riding’ competition, with Auctioneer Chris Goscomb auctioning off eight lucky riders.
We were once again overwhelmed by the support of our local community; family, friends, and colleagues who continue to support Girls Got Heart.
